VEEREY KI WEDDING MOVIE download from vidmate

movie download from vidmate

STORY: Veer Arora is a 'dilli ka launda' who is in love with a 'dilli ki kudi' Geet and wants to marry her. Things go awry when during the meet-the-parents session, Veer locks horns with some scoundrels who misbehave with a girl in a hotel. Geet's father is a peace loving man and refuses give his daughter permission to marry a boy who indulges in 'maar-dhaad' even though he otherwise has a heart of gold.

REVIEW: Set in Delhi, the film revolves around lovers who take the whole duration of the film to get married with the blessings of their parents. The technique used to introduce the hero, Veer (Pulkit Samrat) and heroine, Geet (Kriti Kharbanda) harks back to the 1990s. While the camera concentrates on Veer's swagger and 'chaudi chathi', in case of Geet, it pans from her backside to her bosom and predictably, the girl and the boy (donning a dungree) break into a song with Hinglish lyrics, "Ignore kar na, banda bada mind blowing."

Moving on, there isn't any semblance of a screenplay in the film's first half which also introduces the audience to Balli (Jimmy Shergill), a 35-year-old man and Veer's cousin. Balli has been unlucky in love and is searching eternally for a bride. He adds fuel to fire by threatening Geet's father (Satish Kaushik) with dire consequences, if he causes trouble in the union of Veer and Geet. Coming to the film's dialogues, they seem to have been penned on the go, to put it mildly. Sample this --- Veer's father describing his son's accomplishments while comparing him with another boy says, "Woh gul khilata hai lekin Veer to bagicha khilata hai' or this --- Geet's father trying to tickle the funny bone says, "Na dahi na bhalle, balle balle'. If that elicits laughter, a chuckle or even a smirk then yes, 'Veerey Ki Wedding' is a comedy.

During the film's making, the writers must have realised that parental opposition alone as a conflict is not enough to give their story heft. So, they introduce yet another point of contention with a new suitor for Geet. A film that's been derailed right from the first frame doesn't even have a glimmer of hope to be able salvage the plot at any point, especially in it's second half. Pulkit Samrat who has been trying to make a mark for a while in films, suffers from a huge Salman Khan hangover and that is his biggest shortcoming as an actor. While one has lost count of the number of times Kriti Kharbanda has played a bride, her role in this film requires her to just look pretty and act stupid. As for the film's rest of the cast including Jimmy Shergill, Satish Kaushik and Yuvika Chaudhary, they seem to be sleep walking through it. The set design is straight out of a daily soap. On second thoughts, they do a much better job. Meanwhile, the music and songs are pedestrian and forgettable.

'Veerey Ki Wedding' is a loud and hackneyed film. Skip this comedy of errors as the makers have erred every step of the way in this film. Or, watch it at your own risk.

PADMAN MOVIE download from vidmate

PADMAN Concerned about his wife Gayatri’s (Radhika Apte) menstrual hygiene, Lakshmikant Chauhan (Akshay Kumar) urges her to ditch the cloth and opt for sanitary napkins. Gayatri is reluctant to go for disposable pads as they are expensive. Lakshmi obsessing over a ‘ladies problem’ makes her cringe but he insists on bringing upon a change by addressing the taboo topic. Subjected to hostility for ruffling the religious and age-old beliefs of people around, can the man brave the resistance and get his point across?

PADMAN REVIEW: The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do. Through Padman, R Balki tells the real life inspiring story of Arunachalam Muruganantham (played by Akshay Kumar), a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore, who invented low cost sanitary napkins in India, despite the massive opposition and humiliation he was subjected to. The director changes the film’s setting to Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, while retaining the core of his courageous story.

Given the constant mention of statistics pertaining to the inadequate percentage of women who use pads in India, and reiteration of the film’s issue based motive, Padman often seems like a Public Service Advertisement parading as a commercial film. In order to appeal to the lowest common denominator, things are over-explained and all of this results in a sluggish progression of events. However, given how awkward women are made to feel even today while buying sanitary pads from a medical store, this social drama makes for an important film that needs to be watched.

PADMAN MOVIE download from tubemate

Having said that, in portions, Balki struggles to maintain a balance as it’s not easy to entertain, spread awareness and sensitize people about the issue, all at one go. His semi-humorous and urban outlook at a predominantly rural issue, isn’t seamless as the script often meanders but he redeems himself in scenes that convey a lot more through unspoken words. A quiet moment when Gayatri realises Lakshmi’s concern for her after she sees her brother abusing and neglecting his wife’s health is heart-breaking. Lakshmi’s reaction to his first consumer’s feedback is equally moving.

The ‘superhero’ of the film — Akshay Kumar, makes you wonder why he continues to be one of our most underrated actors, despite such immense body of work. He going as far as wearing a pink ladies underwear and a pad to prove a point, goes on to show how actors are willing to push boundaries and embrace their screen characters for the films they believe in. Radhika Apte portrays her part beautifully, making her character relatable to the section of women, who still face such societal taboos. Sonam Kapoor too lights up the screen with her candour and makes her presence felt in a significant role.

Known for making films that work towards bridging the age and gender gap, Balki’s Padman is an empowering film that gives you the wings, despite the odds. It will free women of their inhibitions and that will be its biggest success. Period!

HICHKI  Naina Mathur (Rani Mukerji) is an aspiring teacher who suffers from Tourette Syndrome. After several interviews and numerous rejections, she lands her dream job as a full-time teacher in an elite school. The class she has been assigned though comprises of defiant and impish students who can’t seem to keep out of trouble. Naina overcomes all challenges to help her students realise their true potential.

    vidmate

HICHKI A teacher can be a mentor, a guide and in rare cases, even a friend. Hichki is the story of one such teacher. What makes Naina (Rani Mukerji) different from other teachers is her Tourette Syndrome. She makes hics and click noises due to a neurological disorder that she explains with spirit and wit. She fights the odds – reactions to her own unsettling, hiccup-powered speech as well as her class of 14 scoundrels who mock her at every turn. These kids are a part of the right to education initiative, thus landing up in an elite school where most kids and teachers have a hoity air of ‘high class’. No one gives Naina a chance to succeed with her bunch of no-good students. But she perseveres. That’s the gist of the film. Its a fresh concept, especially from the perspective of people with disorders. Just because you’re not normal, that doesn’t mean you can’t fit in or you can’t succeed. That thought fuels the drama of the film. But the screenplay stops Hichki from being as great as it could have been. The film is engaging, insightful and entertaining but given the premise it had more potential.

HICHKI MOVIEdownload from tubemate

Yet, there’s so much to love and appreciate in director Siddharth P Malhotra’s film. Owing to the Tourette Syndrome, Naina’s character makes sounds like ‘waa waa’ and ‘chak chak’ at random. The placement of the ‘waa waa’ sounds in particular is most interesting. There’s a sublime level of intelligence and detail in Hichki’s direction that’s worth appreciating. The use of out-of-the-box learning tools within the school environment adds to the film. The director does a good job at crafting and presenting the film. Sadly, the screenplay doesn’t quite cut it for top grades. The first half is spent setting up the story, while the second half heightens the drama but doesn’t change too many gears. Hichki is a film full of emotions, but they just don’t hit the right arc, especially during the climactic portions.

That’s not to say, that the film isn’t worthy of a recommendation. Rani Mukerji’s performance is distinction level stuff. She’s consistent with the Tourette Syndrome and she makes moments of high drama look absolutely effortless. The constant knocks on the chin are pure acting masterclass. Her performance adds the proverbial punch to this story. The casting is top notch too. Young actors who portray the unruly 9F class all do a wonderful job. Harsh Mayar as Aatish, the leader of the mischievous pack is superb. Other actors portraying students in the film are all good too. Neeraj Kabi, who plays the stern science teacher Wadia, is spectacular as well. The efforts of the cast, to a large extent, overshadow the limited writing. The music by Jasleen Royal also adds a nice spark to the proceedings. Its just the right amount of fresh and fun.

Hichki had the potential to be more than just a classroom saga. It does touch upon Naina’s personal struggles and her conflicted relationship with her father. But it could’ve explored these aspects a lot more. For all its shortcomings, the movie still has plenty of freshness, insights and emotional intelligence. It can make you nostalgic about your school days and remind you of your favourite teacher. This one definitely deserves good grades.

Finding Nemo download from vidmate

finding Nemo download from vidmate

Finding Nemo is that delightful rarity - a family film that genuinely appeals to all the family, and not only children. It will enchant the most fidgety four year-old, but most grown-ups will also fall for it, hook, line and sinker. It's one of the best yet from Pixar, the animators who made the Toy Story movies, A Bug's Life and Monsters Inc. And it's a magnificent piece of story-telling.
Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks) is a perennially anxious clownfish who can't tell jokes and doesn't have much to laugh about, especially when - and this is only the pre-titles sequence - a barracuda destroys his home and eats his wife and 399 eggs. The 400th survives and becomes Nemo (Alexander Gould).

On his first day at school, Nemo doesn't heed the advice of his understandably over-protective dad and swims out to inspect a boat - whereupon he's scooped up by a diver and taken off to a tropical fish tank in a Sydney dentist's surgery.

From then on, the story divides in two, as Nemo tries to escape the tank with the help of his fellow internees, led by a scarred old-timer called Gill (Willem Dafoe). Marlin attempts to find Nemo with the help of an eternally optimistic blue fish called Dory (Ellen de Generes).

Along the way, they encounter such characters as Bruce the shark (Barry Humphries) who's formed a self-help group with a couple of like-minded predators in order to turn themselves into nice guys, not mindless eating machines; Nigel, an accident-prone pelican (Geoffrey Rush) and Crush (played by the film's director and co-writer, Andrew Stanton), a 150 year-old turtle who believes like any surfer dude that, hey, you just go with the flow.

The clownfishes' adventures are suspenseful, unpredictable and ceaselessly inventive. The visuals are gorgeous, and make marvellous use of reflection, refraction and the brilliant colours of aquatic life. The gags are often very funny, and - wonder of wonders - the film espouses "family" values without ever becoming earnest or preachy.

 Nemo movie download from vidmate

It's arguably the best film ever made about parental anxiety. Marlin learns not to become quite so over-protective. But Nemo discovers the importance of caution and that his father's twitchiness is born out of love, not just a determination to be a spoilsport.

The film even tackles the potentially schmaltzy, politically correct subject of disability and does so in a positive, thoughtful way. Nemo is born with one fin smaller than the other and is no great swimmer - but he largely overcomes his disability through courage.

Marlin's friend Dory has a mental defect - short-term memory loss - but conquers that too, thanks to her friendliness and optimistic outlook. The script carries off the difficult task of making her disability funny, yet at the same time sad and sympathetic. Ellen de Generes, not the warmest of performers in the flesh, comes across in fish form as a terrific comedienne. The scene where she attempts to talk fluent whale is a classic.

Finding Nemo is charmingly acted, beautifully scripted, and pacily directed, with a wit - verbal, visual and even musical - that raise it to the highest level of film-making. Its success in America has already made it the most successful animated picture of all time. Artistically, it's up there with the all-time animated greats.

3 Storeys Story: The film weaves together three stories set in a Mumbai chawl. While the first narrative involves a businessman looking for accommodation in Mumbai who eventually zeroes in on a house that’s overpriced, the second one revolves around a wife dealing with an abusive and alcoholic husband. The third story narrates the tale of forbidden love --- where a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy fall for each other.

3 Storeys Review: Debutant director Arjun Mukerjee’s 3 Storeys attempts to shatter the perception that the inhabitants of a regular Mumbai chawl live seemingly staid lives. Each story ends with a delicious twist, throwing light on human frailties and also lays bare the circumstances, which often go against human wishes and desires. In fact, the screenplay doesn’t shy away from making the point that life can’t be viewed through rose-tinted glasses and reality is often a bitter pill to swallow.

Renuka Shahane as an elderly Christian lady living alone and quoting an exorbitant price for her house manages to slip into her character with ease. Her unassuming demeanor acts as the perfect foil for what follows in the story.Pulkit Samrat as a businessman who comes to purchase her house is competent. Meanwhile, Masumeh Makhija as a housewife who faces abuse at the hands of her husband and also nurses a broken heart for her ex-lover, uses her eyes to convey her feelings. Sharman Joshi delivers a measured performance as a man who is overwhelmed with mixed feelings when he faces his ex-lover. Debutants Aisha Ahmed and Ankit Rathi are well cast as young lovers who believe that they can overcome the odds stacked against them. Richa Chadha, despite limited screen time, leaves a mark as a seductress who is also the film’s sutradhar.

3 Storeys cleverly demonstrates the art of skillfully telling a story wherein all the loose ends of a plot are tied together into a neat whole. Watch it because fact is stranger than fiction, but fiction when narrated well, can make movie watching an immersive experience.

TOMB RAIDER STORY: Lara Croft seeks to find the truth about her father’s disappearance, which takes her on an adventure that pushes her to her limits.

TOMB RAIDER REVIEW: In the early 2000’s, Angelina Jolie played Lara Croft in a couple of films based on the video-game character who fuelled the fantasies of gaming nerds everywhere. Based on the success of the game’s reboot in 2013, the time seemed appropriate to focus on Lara Croft’s abilities as a female adventurer, rather than her status as a sex symbol. To say that Alicia Vikander had big boots to fill would be an understatement. Then again, Vikander is more than capable as an actress, with an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (‘Danish Girl’) in her belt. She takes on the physically demanding role in this live-action revision of the franchise with ease, erasing any trace of her on-screen predecessor.

This version of Lara Croft is emotionally vulnerable and devoid of superhuman abilities. She needs to use her intellect and courage to overcome the challenges ahead of her. Vikander keeps us invested enough through Lara Croft’s transformation from a naive, hesitant girl to a confident woman who isn’t afraid of taking risks. But in establishing her roots, the film resorts to some of the clichéd tropes of an origin tale. As a result, the plot is often predictable and logically convenient to push the story forward. There’s also the problem of the generic villain Vogel, played by Walton Goggins, who doesn’t feel sufficiently threatening to be taken seriously.

TOMB RAIDER MOVIe download from vidmate

On the other hand, Dominic West as Lord Richard Croft brings in enough emotional resonance as Lara’s father to make her motivations well-justified as their scenes together are essential to the plot. Although the clunky screenplay results in uneven pacing issues that make for a sloppy watch, the action is compelling enough to see you through. If only it didn’t rely so heavily on snappy editing, it would be even more thrilling. These choices by director Roar Uthaug hold the movie back from being an intense experience. But ‘Tomb Raider’ does enough to reignite the franchise onscreen by giving its protagonist a timely and relevant overhaul to confidently launch Alicia Vikander as this generation’s Lara Croft.

Hollywood churned out some big-ticket human dramas last year, but count on them to take things up a notch in 2018. The year ahead is all set to see a long line up of high octane action flicks hitting theatres all year round, thus giving fans their timely dose of adrenaline. Apart from looking forward to seeing fresh new faces in a few re-boots, 2018 will see the rise of superheroes and a new breed of supervillains battling it out on the big screen.
Here's a list of Hollywood movies to look forward to in the coming months.

All eyes will be on Chadwick Boseman as he will introduce the world to 'Black Panther', the first solo black superhero movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Led by a predominantly African-American ensemble star cast, the film will see Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya and Forest Whitaker co-starring alongside Boseman as his character T'Challa rises to claim the throne of Wakanda. Given the ongoing racism row in Hollywood, the film will reportedly not only appeal to fans but will also make a solid socio-political statement.
Meanwhile, fans in India also have a lot to look forward to as the makers have roped in Manoj Muntashir, who wrote the Hindi dialogues for 'Baahubali', to pen powerful dialogues and further enhance the royalty and mystique of the world of 'Black Panther' when its dubbed version releases on February 16.

Lo and behold! The cataclysmic war of superheroes, enhanced humans and demi-gods teaming up to battle aliens and a mad Titan will soon unfold at a theatre near you on April 27, 2018. The film is by far the most anticipated superhero movie of all time as it took over a decade and 17 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to finally set up this clash of epic proportions.
'Avengers: Infinity War' will be screened in India a week before its premiere in Amerca. Trade experts are already predicting it to become the highest grossing film of all cinematic history.
The first trailer that dropped in November 2017 broke the record for the most watched trailer of all time in 24 hours. If that isn't a key indicator of what is about to come, we don't know what is.
All fans can do is wait it out to see the Avengers team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and the entire kingdom of Wakanda along with SpiderMan, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and others to defeat Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Oscar winner Alicia Vikander will soon be seen stepping into Angelina Jolie's boots for the upcoming 'Tomb Raider' reboot based on the iconic video game character Lara Croft. Fans got glimpses of all the action set to unfold in the film's first trailer. While it will take some getting used to the all-new femme fatale, without Angie's brand of sensuality, it will be interesting to see how Alicia portrays her first full-fledged action role.
'Tomb Raider' hits screens in India on March 16.
Aquaman5/11
Aquaman

While DC Comics have been trying hard to revive their Batman and Superman film series, it was in fact 'Wonder Woman', that singlehandedly became DCU's most successful film of all time. With 'Justice League' failing to impress many, it will be interesting to see if another solo outing 'Aquaman' can change the tides. The superhero flick will see Jason Momoa take on the role of Arthur Curry, the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, who must step forward to lead his people and be a hero to the world.
Will the demi-god with the ability to harness the power of the ocean be able to woo the fans or will it be a washout? Guess we will have to wait until December to find out.

Hugh Jackman bid an emotional farewell to Logan last year but lucky for fans, that was not the end of the mutants. Picking up the fight is Sophie Turner, who will fully explore the powers of her psychic mutant character Jean Grey, even if it threatens to corrupt her and turn her into the Dark Phoenix. Reported to be a follow-up to 'X-Men: Apocalypse', the film is intended to be the 13th instalment in the 'X-Men' film series.

If there is one movie fans of the Ocean's film franchise are looking forward to, it is this year's 'Ocean's 8' comprising of an all-women cast comprising of stars like Sandra Bullock, Awkwafina, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and Rihanna planning a one-of-a-kind intricate, yet flashy, heist. Although not a remake or a direct sequel to 2001 crime comedy Ocean's Eleven that starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and other A-listers, this film is one of the highly anticipated films of the summer.
It will reportedly follow Bullock's character, who after getting out of jail, recruits seven women to help her pull off a jewellery heist at the annual Met Gala in New York City.

'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' will give you all the thrills of watching the dinosaurs run loose once again. Despite the terror these films create, fans are curiously await the return of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in this sequel. Going by popular reports, several plot leaks indicate that it will move away from the first 'Jurassic World' and more toward kinder undertone.
Slated to release next summer, the movie also stars Jeff Goldblum, who will reprise his role as Dr Ian Malcolm.
Oscar-winning actor Tom Cruise will soon hit the screens running for the sixth instalment of the 'Mission: Impossible' series, and we aren't complaining. Agent Ethan Hunt announced his forthcoming arrival in true 'MI' style by sharing the film's first poster that features him dangling out of a helicopter. After a spectacular performance in 'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation', Rebecca Ferguson is back to team up with Cruise for yet another action adventure that is set to unfold in A new film that will soon be added to the growing 'Conjuring' universe is the upcoming horror flick, 'The Nun'. The spinoff of 'The Conjuring 2', will reportedly follow the story a priest sent by the Vatican officials to investigate the suicide of a young nun in Romania. Set in the same cinematic universe, this film will reportedly have a different look and feel to it with a pretty terrifying atmosphere. The demon nun's appearances were one of the consistent scares through the franchise, so it will be interesting to see if those jump scares can be just as effective in the stand-alone film for an audience with high expectations.

WAR MACHINE MOVIE download from tubemate

WAR MACHINE MOVIE download from tubemate

WAR MACHINE REVIEW: ‘War Machine’ revolves around Glen McMahon (Brad Pitt) – a war-hardened general with one clear agenda: to put an end to the war. This solution is marred by the fact that US Marines are attempting to win over a war-torn Afghan population while hunting ISIS terrorists, resulting in a significant number of casualties at both ends. McMahon is a firm believer in the counterinsurgency and motivates his group of Marines to follow him into battle at the drop of a hat. His determination inspires an almost cultish reverence amongst his troops, who blindly trust him and his solutions even though there’s no evidence of their efficacy. They surround him in a sycophant cocoon, enabling a vicious cycle as they reinforce his unrealistic outlook, which only propels them further into misguided chaos – eventually leading to their downfall.

Brad Pitt inhabits the brazen general in his entirety. Gone is the glamorous leading man of international appeal – in his place is a larger-than-life character who, like the actor portraying him, is no less of an iconic figure. Brad Pitt imbibes McMahon’s persona on various emotional levels ranging from bravado to vulnerability, but he goes a step further by incorporating physical peculiarities that display the toll war has taken on his body, along with his mind. This could have easily descended into an over-the-top depiction, but Pitt is a veteran of emotionally layered roles with a firm grasp of comedic timing and delivery. This skilled combination allows him a nuanced portrayal that’s grounded in subtlety, thereby keeping his character from becoming a caricature.

WAR MACHINE MOVIE download from vidmate

Following the undeniably humorous predicament that McMahon and his cronies dig themselves into, there is a gutting sense of dismay and distress when the real face of combat is revealed. Writer-director David Michôd uses comedy to lower your defenses only to deliver the sucker punch, well into the last act of the film. His ability to maintain an underlying sense of frustration and helplessness, which builds towards a deeper understanding of the futility of combat, is a triumph in itself. He also obtains memorable performances from the entire cast; even minor roles played by Sir Ben Kingsley and Tilda Swinton are affecting. All these parts work as a well-oiled device resulting in a moving study of the disastrous impact of war, amidst all the laughs. Pitt - who also produced the film - and Michôd, lead us down an intricate rabbit hole to expose the gears that keep the ‘War Machine’ turning. Don’t be surprised to hear about award nominations on this one, and make sure to add it to your watch-list as soon as it’s out.

Tony Webster’s mundane retiree life is thrown into a tizzy following a letter from an old acquaintance. He dives headfirst into his past, and reassesses a former relationship, a forgotten friendship and a few repressed memories only to come to rude realizations.

Four years later, Ritesh Batra opens another lunchbox and serves up a story that is at once simple and magical, like a hot home-cooked meal.

We know the key ingredient in Batra’s pantry: he spins the best tales out of regular people with insignificant lives and a slight irregularity that alters it all. In The Lunchbox (2013), it was misaddressed notes sent in tiffin boxes. In The Sense Of An Ending, it is a letter that forces the protagonist to rethink the course of his life.

Tony (Jim Broadbent) learns that his ex-girlfriend Veronica’s (Charlotte Rampling) mother has left him a diary that belonged to his friend. But Veronica refuses to part with the diary. As Tony narrates old events to his ex-wife Margaret (Harriet Walter), he realizes that he may have a rather convenient memory of a murky past.

Jim Broadbent plays a letter-writing grumpy old man trapped in a world of smartphones and clicks and clacks; the movie thrives on his comic timing and vulnerability. Charlotte Rampling is a force of nature even in this understated role that requires her to not say much. Broadbent and Rampling’s younger counterparts (Howle and Mavor) also add great charm to the movie. Harriet Walter is superb as Tony’s ex-wife who has little patience for his irresponsibility and his obsessive soul-searching.

Writer Nick Payne has done a credible job of infusing this emotional story with a good dose of thrill; the last act is so structured that you may be left deciphering the plot if you don’t watch with rapt attention. On rare occasions, the movie delves into unnecessary details. Michelle Dockery plays Tony’s pregnant daughter and the purpose of her character isn’t entirely clear (except for a very obvious connection to an event in Tony’s past). But these are minuscule flaws.

With his English-language debut, Batra proves that his journey as a filmmaker is in sharp contrast with the title of his film.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI STORY: The eighth chapter of the Star Wars saga continues as new heroes join galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI REVIEW: With quite the literal cliffhanger at the end of ‘The Force Awakens’, fans were left with a lot of questions. Where has Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) been, and what was he up to for all these years? Who is Rey (Daisy Ridley) and how is she so strong with the Force? What’s the deal with Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis)? Why did Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) turn over to the dark side? Clearly, writer & director Rian Johnson knows these questions are on every fan’s mind. But true to what Luke Skywalker says in the trailer, he does not address them the way you think. There are a lot of narrative risks taken by Johnson in ‘The Last Jedi’ and they propel the mythology in an unexpected direction.

Even with it’s two and a half hour runtime, there’s not much fluff in ‘The Last Jedi’. All the drama, action and adventure build towards something much bigger. There’s hardly a bad performance in this film, but Mark Hamill is outstanding as Luke. Now a cranky old man, Luke’s history with the Force, and Jedi have taken a toll on him and Hamill captures this essence with a pain that’s tangible. The interactions between Luke and Rey are certainly gripping, but even more intriguing are the scenes between her and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Meanwhile, the other characters – General Leia (Carrie Fisher), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), and Finn (John Boyega), all add vital aspects to the story. Johnson even introduces a few new ones with Benicio Del Toro being memorable, and Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Holdo does not disappoint. The only misstep is Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) and her equation with Finn that feels somewhat disconnected from the others.

All the technical components come together seamlessly as well. The score, editing, effects, sound design, and cinematography are well-balanced and high caliber. With some absolutely gorgeous moments that will become imprinted in every fan’s mind, ‘The Last Jedi’ is everything a Star Wars film should be, and so much more. Johnson weaves an emotionally rewarding tale while balancing all the essential sci-fi action expected, but manages to give ‘The Last Jedi’ its own heart and voice.

WONDER STORY: Based on the New York Times bestseller, Wonder tells the incredibly inspiring and heart-warming story of August ‘Auggie’ Pullman.

WONDER REVIEW: Wonder features the unusual pairing of Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts as Nate and Isabel Pullman - the parents of Auggie (Jacob Tremblay) who was born with facial congenital deformities. Being home-schooled, he has avoided showing his face in public for most of his life but that's about to change for the 10-year-old, now that his parents decide to send him to middle school. Auggie faces ridicule, bullying and discovers the ups and downs of friendship as he comes to terms with his condition. What's interesting is how 'Wonder' takes this story about the little boy and weaves it around his parents, his teenaged sister Via, and all the school kids he encounters.

This is backed by strong performances behind the major characters, with Jacob Tremblay being really effective as Auggie. His personality shines through as an intelligent boy lacking in confidence, and this allows us to be emotionally invested in how he changes over the course of the film. Izabela Vidovic as Via captures the woes of a teen dealing with isolation because of her family's need to focus on her brother. Owen Wilson puts in an honest turn as the sweet and sensitive paternal figure and is well-placed opposite Julia Roberts who delivers one of her best performances in years as a mother who has to juggle with everyone’s feelings in the Pullman household.

There are some clichéd postcard-worthy quotes in ‘Wonder’ but they still manage to land home without cheating their way into pulling at your heartstrings. The film avoids the manipulative methods usually employed by Hollywood tearjerkers by giving us some perspective on the lives of those closest to Auggie, and how they are affected by his condition. Co-writer & Director Stephen Chbosky takes a lot of care to portray scenarios that are largely realistic, and witty enough to pardon some of the mandatory sugar-coating a premise like this would warrant. There are points when you will reach out for some tissues but they’re peppered with enough laughs along the way to make it well-balanced, extremely relevant and combined with a strong message. This wholesome family entertainer is certainly worth your time!

THE SALESMAN STORY: Rana is assaulted in her new home, and while the attack exhausts her physically and emotionally, it is her husband Emad who spends sleepless nights toiling away in search of her faceless abuser.

THE SALESMAN REVIEW: In 1978, the Vinod Mehra - Rekha movie, Ghar, was said to be ahead of its time for depicting rape and its consequence on marriage. There too, two people move into a new apartment for a new start but their lives are brought to a grinding halt when the wife is gang-raped and the husband is left scrambling for answers.

The Salesman briefly reminds you of Ghar, but quickly moves into unexplored territories. Here, the attack takes place within the house. Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) is waiting for her husband to return home and casually unlocks the door for him before going into the loo to wash up. An unseen intruder breaks into the house and molests Rana. Her husband Emad (Shahab Hosseini) hears about the incident, and it opens the doors to a patriarchal sense of rage in him that he seemed to have locked away.

The movie delivers on all the expectations one has come to attach with Asghar Farhadi's work. Like his previous breakout, A Separation, this is also a highly volatile story contained within the four walls of a house. No option for the characters but to bounce off the walls!

The nervous energy of every character is palpable and makes you restless. The weight of the story shifts from the actual assault to its impact on the male ego seamlessly and you find yourself pondering a different social issue altogether. In the film, Emad plays Willy Loman (the titular character) in a local production of Death of a Salesman and soon finds himself in Loman’s shoes, approaching insanity in pursuit of a mirage.

Taraneh Alidoosti’s vulnerability pierces your heart and you feel hurt on her behalf. Shahab Hosseini has been given a difficult role and walks the tightrope between being chauvinistic and compassionate.

This Iranian drama is chock-full of intrigue and has a lot of parallels with Indian sensibilities. There are a lot of reasons to watch it, least of all the fact that it is this year’s Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film.

COCO STORY: A multi-generational story by Disney-Pixar about the power of family relationships.

COCO REVIEW: Disney-Pixar has repeatedly raised the bar of animated movies by telling stories that would appeal to children and adults alike. But their past couple of films seemed to miss that crucial element of storytelling, leading to some sub-par entries in their otherwise impressive catalogue. ‘Coco’ is an original tale, and a highly imaginative one at that, by writer/ co-director Adrian Molina. Based in Mexico, it introduces us to the Rivera family who makes shoes for a living and everyone absolutely despises anything related to music. Except for little Miguel Rivera, who shines shoes but aspires to be a musician. Through the course of the film, Miguel enters the Land of the Dead and learns the truth about who his family really is.

‘Coco’ is colorful and vibrant, blending a number of unique personalities and vivid landscapes. Director Lee Unkrich keeps the narrative taut; throwing in a couple of twists along with some truly powerful moments that will invariably pull at your heartstrings. The voice acting from an all-Latino cast is top-notch, with Anthony Gonzalez’s Miguel being endearing. Gael García Bernal & Benjamin Bratt who play Héctor and Ernesto de la Cruz respectively make each character unique. Renée Victor as the wisecracking, feisty Abuelita is a treat. Even Dante, Miguel’s pet street dog who doesn’t have any lines, is adorable and plays a vital role too.

Going beyond the usual ‘follow your dreams’ mantra, ‘Coco’ has multiple messages to take home. It’s also a cautionary tale about the pitfalls of being a celebrity, and more importantly an ode to family, especially the ones who aren’t with us anymore. Even though it’s primarily set in Mexico and steeped in their culture, anyone who values family, and music, will connect with it immediately. Expect guitar sales to spike as musically-inclined kids will be inspired to take up lessons. The fact that even some adults might be tempted to do the same, is a testament to why this film works so well. ‘Coco’ shows us what Disney-Pixar does best, and reminds us that it still hasn’t lost its touch. Take your kids along for it, and if you don’t have any, don’t hesitate to go alone!

JUMANJI STORY: Four high school kids discover an old video game console and get pulled into the game’s jungle setting. They soon realise that they don’t just have to play the game as the avatar versions of themselves– they need to survive it too.

JUMANJI REVIEW: In the age of Hollywood’s obsession with franchise-building and reboots, the idea for a sequel to 1995’s ‘Jumanji’ came across as another eye-roll worthy project. However, the combination of charming actors Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillian and Kevin Hart, made it evident that this would wind up either being a complete trainwreck, or sheer mindless fun. Fortunately, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ falls solidly into the latter category. The chemistry between the lead cast is evident and the script makes the most of this by giving each actor moments to shine and showcase their skills while they clearly enjoy playing their characters.

Johnson’s younger persona Spencer is a nerdy guy who has lived a sheltered life and is afraid of the world. When he enters the game he takes on the avatar of a hunk with no discernible physical weakness. Johnson has fun with this switch of persona and watching him go back and forth doesn’t get old. The same goes for Jack Black who plays a self-absorbed, social media addicted teenage girl Bethany. Her switch into Black’s trademark rotund shape is the most extreme and ends up being hilarious. While Black and Johnson are engaging as they are completely cast against their typical selves, Gillian and Hart aren’t too far behind playing an awkward, insecure but intelligent girl, and an all-star jock boy trapped in a less-than-stellar body respectively.

JUMANJI  MOVIE download from vidmate

This entire body-switch premise works on slapstick humour that’s not crass and moves quickly with ample action to ensure that the 2-hour runtime doesn’t feel bulky at any point. Granted there’s a villain problem with Bobby Cannavale’s Van Pelt being as one-dimensional as they come. It’s conveniently explained away as this is all a video game, and the same rules apply for its lack of depth. ‘Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle’ ends up being a fun, holiday film that will keep you entertained enough to make it worth your time and money.

THE 15:17 TO PARIS MOVIE download from tubemate

PARIS MOVIE download from tubemate

The 15:17 to Paris' is Clint Eastwood taking another shot at recreating on celluloid, heroic moments from real life. This time, the veteran filmmaker deals with the subject of an actual hijacking of a train in Paris by a lone gunman in 2015 and how three brave Americans foiled the plan. As an experiment, Eastwood has cast the real people involved in tackling the gunman; two American soldiers Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone, and their friend Anthony Sadler.

HE 15:17 TO PARIS MOVIE download from tubemate

As far as films on terrorism go, there’s not much action to be seen here. The entire train attack lasts hardly more than 15 minutes. What’s even more detrimental to the film is Eastwood interspacing the attack with the life stories of the three friends. Right from the time they were in school to the time they chose their respective vocations, the camera follows the trio trying to show that how absolutely normal people can rise above their stature in life and do big things. But this attempt to match all the pieces of the puzzle until the climax hits the viewers does not work in the interest of the film. It just seems like you’re waiting for a payoff that doesn’t quite arrive. The big moment of the film is the actual footage of the French President François Hollande honouring the Americans along with others who helped take-on the hijacker. The filmmaker must have thought that this will be his big money-shot, confounding viewers with footage of an actual prime minister giving out the awards, but that doesn’t work. The reason it doesn't is that you observe that there were other people who were just as important in subduing the hijacker and were mentioned in the film only in passing.

From a Clint Eastwood directorial, one expects better. Alas, this one is relegated to being merely an experiment in casting.

PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING STORY: Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, leads a new generation of Jaeger pilots, against a new Kaiju threat.

PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING REVIEW: Picking up a decade after the events of its predecessor, ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ starts off with an intriguing angle – to explore life after a near global catastrophe. But it soon reverts to the old threats, as the Kaiju return to wreak havoc. There are more than a few new recruits this time around: Cailee Spaeny’s Amara Namani is a valuable addition and seems to be a promising young talent to watch out for. This can’t be said about Scott Eastwood who plays a guy so reminiscent of his father Clint Eastwood; you almost hope it’s a joke. It also doesn’t help that Nate Lambert has little to no chemistry with his co-pilot Jake Pentecost.

The usually charming John Boyega plays Jake who is trying to carve his own individuality, away from his father’s fame. However, there are none of the nuances of ‘identity crisis’ seen here. Sure, he eventually gives the rousing speech expected before an apocalyptic event, but it ends up being too little, too late. Charlie Day is back as Dr Newton Geiszler, and his character is given a lot more to do beyond a nerdy and comical genius, but the transition feels rather convenient than justified. Burn Gorman’s Dr Hermann Gotliebb seems to be merely going through the motions.

PACIFIC RIM:MOVIE download from vidmate

The humour in this sequel is terribly forced as it focuses mostly on franchise-building pegs at the cost of storytelling basics. The movie seems hellbent on reminding you that it’s an action blockbuster every 5 minutes or so with battle sequences that jump right off the screen, as they should in 3D. This is the only reason to watch this on the biggest screen around. Devoid of the heart and soul of its predecessor, ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ aims to please hardcore fans of massive monster versus robot fights. Those seeking any depth in their action films, better look elsewhere.

When Ayush (Karan Kundra) arrives in England to learn music, he is shocked and scared when the manor he is living in becomes haunted by spirits. To exorcise them, he seeks the help of Rose (Zareen Khan), a woman who can see and speak with them.

What different could Vikram Bhatt do in the fourth instalment of his period horror franchise, you wonder? Well, he has a female exorcist this time, but her talents are suspect. Why? Because in one scene, when Rose says that she can see spirits ever since she was a kid and can talk to them and even helps them, you want to believe her. But the fact that she nearly jumps out of her skin whenever she sees even a little shadow of the ghosts makes you suspect her abilities as an exorcist. But you play along because her neighbouring manor, where a strapping young pianist from India strums the piano like a pro is in danger. The Wadia manor where he is living is haunted by ghosts who run around giggling like little girls, strum a wicked piano tune themselves and are attacking him by turning his body all cracked-up and black. When Rose looks around the house, with all her years of experience of ‘helping’ the ghouls achieve moksha, she comes to the conclusion that there is a very malevolent presence in the house and needs to be investigated and dealt with pronto. How the two manage to achieve this is what makes up the film.

 MOVIE download from tubemate

The problem with ‘1921’ is, that Vikram Bhatt has added too much of a story to it. While the ghosts he has created do manage to scare you, they pop-up like such overzealousness and dedication so often, that after the interval, you are almost numb to their presence. You actually become better at sensing their presence than Rose herself and can say exactly when they will jump in and scare the poor, pretty lady. The production is impressive and the mood that Bhatt creates, with dim candle lights, is actually effective, but the film quickly develops a formula and your attention wavers. While Bhatt has managed to piece together the disjointed ends of his extremely laborious story, and there is a climax that one did not expect, it already too late. With the number of songs in the film, which all sound the same, ‘1921’ is more of a horror-musical. Even if you are weak-hearted, this one will not scare you for too long.

A happy-go-lucky Mumbai suburban housewife Sulochana, fondly known as Sulu, lands the role of a night RJ, resulting in drastic changes to her routine life.

There’s a been a recent spate of Bollywood movies devoid of its typical glamorous sheen with a focus on the lives of middle-class suburban Indian households. Ad director turned filmmaker Suresh Triveni takes this into consideration in his big screen debut while writing the story around Vidya Balan as Sulochana or ‘Sulu’, a housewife whose achievements aren’t typically noteworthy, but that doesn’t stop her from dreaming big. When presented with a rare opportunity, her subsequent decisions & actions affect her husband, son and immediate family. As a testament to Triveni’s ability as a writer, Sulu doesn’t lose her identity as she begins to experience the corporate media life as an RJ, walking the tightrope between her overnight fame and managing her domestic demands.

Vidya Balan is completely in her element, infusing Sulu with an abundance of infectious optimism without being aggravating. She makes Sulu appealing by bringing out the various shades of a woman who has put her personal ambitions on hold because of her family. It also helps that she is surrounded by strong performances all around, in those playing her colleagues and loved ones. Manav Kaul, in particular, is perfectly cast as Sulu’s husband Ashok – a man trying his best to make his wife happy, but also faces work pressure that gets deflected into anger. Also, her family isn’t too thrilled about her sweet-talking potential creeps on a nighttime show which fuels the drama around Sulu’s new career.

TUMHARI SULU MOVIE download from tubemate

The sudden shift from being lighthearted to a serious drama is largely where the film falters. Until then, there are entire sequences, especially with her colleagues which are thoroughly entertaining but don’t eventually add up to much. We spend a lot of time looking through Sulu’s lens, and while there’s a lot to fun stuff to savour there, thanks to Vidya – this crucial conflict emerges well into the film’s runtime, at a point where her voice is just starting to be heard in the world. Fortunately, the tonal shifts are not too jarring to disconnect from the story which is easily accessible. A majority of the urban populace will relate to the challenges faced by Sulu and her family, as we all struggle to live out our dreams of a better life. The essence of this story is ‘Main Kar Sakti Hai’, and with such a refined and affable actress as Vidya Balan in the lead, it is lovingly captured in ‘Tumhari Sulu’ making it an entertaining watch for the whole family.

Hate Story 4 Movie download from vidmate

Hate Story 4 Movie download from vidmate

Perhaps the most humbling moment of my existence occurs every year at the ticket counter on the morning of another Hate Story movie. The matinee-show queue is comprised entirely of randy college couples determined to elevate the desperation of the Mumbai space-crunch epidemic into a finely tuned art form. A young lady employee suppresses a grin while handing out printed tickets to the barely-legal kids, almost as if to say, “I get you, bro.” The smirk turns into an aghast, judgmental, unsympathetic, you-dirty-old-man shrug when I, a not-so-old adult Indian male, ask for “one ticket” in a row significantly distant from the cluster of loved-up teenagers. I could swear she refuses to make eye contact, and probably douses her hands with sanitizer after handling my debit card.

Her reaction – one that is designed to make me feel like a raging sex offender – effectively says a lot about the film franchise in question. She unknowingly bears the look of a suspicious receptionist whose sole job is to defend the smutty sanctity of a love motel. Because, that’s what Hate Story does – it converts theatres across the country into little more than shady rates-by-the-hour “Hotel Decent” rooms. It is by no means a cinematic venture.

Pandya’s idea of women empowerment is presenting to us heroines that are paraded around in every permutation and combination of nakedness and “sheet music” with two NRI brothers (Vivan Bhatena as Aryan, Karan Wahi as Rajveer) as part of a grand feminist plan to avenge a clichéd act of injustice.

And it is the collective failure of this nation as a culture that director Vishal Pandya’s “business” – founded, of course, by Vivek Agnihotri – has been allowed to flaunt its fourth chapter in all its guileless glory. Not one, or two, but four – and this time, the budget is large enough to shoot the entire damn thing in London, where clueless white extras seem to have been dubbed over in post-production by Versova extras on potent muscle relaxers. There is no point criticizing these films as semi-pornographic nonsense either, because the makers are then programmed like populist-bots that blame our hatred of their incompetent hate stories on supposedly elitist, “crude and hypocritical” attitudes. Never mind that my dog could tell a better hate story about postmen.

As for the plot – spoilers ahead, but I doubt you should care – Pandya’s idea of women empowerment is presenting to us heroines that are paraded around in every permutation and combination of nakedness and “sheet music” with two NRI brothers (Vivan Bhatena as Aryan, Karan Wahi as Rajveer) as part of a grand feminist plan to avenge a clichéd act of injustice. Urvashi Rautela, as stripper-turned-model Tasha, is the femme fatale in charge of seducing the Khurana (a dramatic jump down from the weighty retro-ness of “Singhania” in Hate Story 3) brothers. Their father, played by bad man Gulshan Grover, is a wealthy Indian on the brink of becoming the mayor of London. This makes sense, because only a 1990s Grover could have given birth to boys who spout words like: “Boardroom or bedroom, there isn’t one thing she wouldn’t do to satisfy me” or “you love water as much as I do, because my body is made of 65 percent water” or “Ghar aur dil ke darwaze band rakhne chahiye” or “Tasha has the X-factor but she isn’t like your ex!” or “Draupadi had five Pandavas, I only have two” or the finest of them all: an English reporter interviewing Tasha with, “The British once ruled India, and now you are the face of British tourism,” to which Tasha declares, “You just ruled our land. I will rule your hearts”.

If Hate Story 4 were a person, it would be the spoilt, rich kid of Baazigar who grows up, moves away from Delhi and relocates to a steroid-blasted Lokhandwala gym to pursue his dreams of becoming the starry right bicep of Vivan Bhatena. To his credit, Bhatena has managed to convince many directors over the years that he isn’t your regular tree trunk. This time he even has Wahi by his side to make him look a little less ancient.

There are also two other women that dare to exist in this film – Aryan’s wife, Rishma (who also spends an entire song grinding against him at their beach house), and a strangely pointless model (Rajveer’s ex, who dramatically declares “I am the twist in the plot, baby” to him after being told she has lost the plot) – who spend more time in racy lingerie than in character.

Another, a “cameo” by Vikram Bhatt horror-favourite, Tia Bajpai, manages to not kill herself when a drunken Rajveer threatens to harass her with this opening line: “I’m somebody that can get anybody but I want nobody other than your body.” In unrelated news, dialogue writer Milap Zaveri was the director of the notorious sex comedy, Mastizaade.

But it’s Rautela who spends the entire second half smirking at the screen harder than a gold-digging Luv Ranjan villain – as if she were selling tickets to her own film at the multiplex counter.

In fact, the only scene I was truly offended by in Hate Story 4 is one in which Rishma, after finding out that Aryan is cheating on her, smacks him across the face on a terrace bar. The technique she demonstrates – that of a palm barreling up from below as if she were chucking an overweight bowling ball – is very problematic. If aspiring actors today can’t slap properly – an action that requires them to emote through their hands – what else is left?

In recent times, the biggest disaster of this kind was “Bombay Velvet”. Karan Johar’s acting career was destroyed by a single movie. I have not seen a bigger than this flop. And to rub salt on his wounds, he was given the 2016 “Filmfare Award for best Male Debut”.

“Loha” (Iron) weighed down Jugal Hansraj’s Career permanently. Some weighty problem that! He did not need a “Pyar Impossible” after that, but impossible happened.

“Ajooba” did so much damage to Amitabh and totally sank Shashi Kapoor (as a Director). Not only then, but it almost sank the careers of every one associated with the film. Many people consider “Ajooba” an insult to their intelligence.

“Naag Naagin” totally sank the armada that “Raam Teri Ganga Maili” had set afloat. Both the Hero Rajiv Kapoor and the Heroine Mandakini sank without a trace.

Take a deep breath, and one final look at the poster below. You may never see it again in your life:

“Love Story 2050” was supposed to be a Sci Fi one that would set the screens ablaze. However, it consigned Harman Baweja to the dustbins of Bollywood forever. Priyanka Chopra could barely bale out with her parachute.

An archaeological group finds a weapon that will reincarnate Ravana upon activation. The group races against time to protect it from the evil hands of Bhuria, who plans to misuse it. Bad Film.

Actually there are a lot of other such disasters, but let’s check them out some other day

When it comes to Bollywood, there is no shortage of movies that have been so senseless that their very mention makes us cringe. These movies somehow make us question our belief in filmmaking. But then, the audience is so dynamic that you can’t predict what movies work and which ones don’t, although some are too obvious. So how about we let IMDB pick the worst of the lot? IMDB is a huge database where all movies are rated out of 10.

Here is a list of movies that made it to the worst 25 movies in Bollywood according to IMDB ratings:

1. Himmatwala, 2013 (1.8/10)

You need himmat to watch this masterpiece by Sajid Khan. The movie is a remake of a movie made 30 years ago. But, if anything, it is worse than the original.

2. Karzzzz, 2008 (2.1/10)

No, the numerology did not help this Himesh Reshammiya starrer in any way. A remake that actually ruined the legacy of the original one.

3. Aap Kaa Surroor: The Moviee – The Real Luv Story, 2007 (2.2/10)

The story is as confusing as the name. All you need to know is that it was made in Germany (which they say 20,000 times in the movie… I mean… ‘moviee’) and somehow there are Indian auto rickshaws plying there as well.

4. Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, 2007 (2.0/10)

All hope was burnt when this official Sholay remake was released. Not only did he include his own name in the title but used the hero of the first movie, Amitabh Bachchan, as the villain in this one.

5. Drona, 2008 (2.3/10)

Abhishek Bachchan is a warrior (yes, that is true) and has a love interest who somehow looks like a female samurai. No matter how much sepia filter they used, it could not protect the movie from its terrible and inevitable fate.

6. Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, 2002 (2.7/10)

Itni anokhi ki koi na samajh paye. This movie had the worst CG setup ever, so they decided to use Armaan Kohli as Neo, Terminator and a snake’s head. Also, it showed us two things: how an attempt to rape can be okay and Sonu Nigam’s acting.

7. Tees Maar Khan, 2010 (2.5/10)

The only reason people went to see this movie was because of Katrina Kaif’s ‘Sheila ki jawani’ number. But even she could not save a comedy that can only make you laugh if you have turned your brain off along with your phone in the theatre.

8. Love Story 2050, 2008 (2.7/10)

Hrithik Roshan part 2 (Harman Baweja) plans to bring his girlfriend back from the dead. He happens to have a time machine at his disposal, but instead of going back in time he goes forward to 2050. Ingenious, isn’t it?

9. Joker, 2012 (2.5/10)

A village created by mental asylum escapees called Paglapur (so smart). Well, not really. You may end up feeling like a part of this village which somehow escaped the world’s sight for 60 years.

10. Jism 2, 2012 (2.8/10)

Sunny Leone plays a porn star, and she probably was the only reason the movie worked a little. An anti-climatic scene up in heaven made it worse. Your jism would beg you to leave mid way.

11. Rudraksh, 2004 (2.9/10)

Voodoo practices that are beyond reasoning and healing powers that killed science. Also Sanjay Dutt touching Bipasha Basu’s temple to give her ‘lady feels’ (yes, that is term used). It is beyond human logic and ability to understand.

12. Rascals, 2011 (2.8/10)

The movie was called a third grade comedy, a series of dumb misadventures and a comedy which was seriously not funny. There are so many cons in the movie that all sense will con your brain and leave. Cons con a man who in turn cons the con men only to find out that he has been conned by the cons.

13. Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, 2002 (3.1/10)

A wealthy girl (Amisha Patel) falls for a college boy (Hrithik Roshan). Her father disapproves of this (surprise, surprise!) She takes poison and is about to die but somehow seeing him kick the crap out of her brother and his goons she somehow survives.

Grammatically your question 's answer should contain only one movie...but I humbly beg your pardon that even after spending a lot of time pondering upon the question, I could not decide which among the following is the worst movie ever ......

1.Shaandaar

It's a film which makes me wonder how could the director of National Award winning film"Queen" make such a nonsense movie...sorry it's not even a movie. It has the worst ever screenplay , worsened by the unnecessary and improper use of rubbish animations. The overall concept of the movie is very simple-"A Destination Wedding". And they just ruined the entire movie with absolutely weird screenplay and an even worse direction which was unexpected from Vikas Bahl.

2.Bombay Velvet

Again a film by the same production house as that of Shaandaar -Phantom Films , this movie was directed by the filmmaker of highly acclaimed "Gangs of Wasseypur" , which is again another unresolved paradox. Again poor script , a villain (Karam Johar)who seems a comedian more than an antagonist.Inspite of having talented actors like Ranbir and Anushka, it was the abysmally poor direction of Anurag Kashyap which led to the downfall of this much-hyped movie.

3.Humshakals

Nothing better than this garbage can be expected from Sajid Khan. A film without any story , any script, this film is an epitome of absolutely poor filmmaking . There is a scene in this film where the protagonists consume a medicine after which they convert from humans to dogs. I mean ... isn't that bizarre!

Hands down,

HUMSHAKALS

To this day, I fail to understand just how this movie was made.

I know that half of the comedies in Bollywood are made without a proper script. So by now I'm used to it.

Now imagine this scene:

Ram Kapoor attempting to rape his doppelganger who himself is dressed in a drag.

Please enlighten me. How the fuck is this funny? I remember that I was in utter shock with my jaw dropped to the floor. (Believe me, The Red Wedding was nothing compared to this)

What really disturbs me is the fact that none of the people involved thought that this was a bad idea. Absolutely NONE!

And before you start bashing me that I'm judging the film by the only scene, trust me. I'm so not doing that.

The music. What the actual fuck? I'd rather listen to chalk grinding on a blackboard all day than listening to… whatever the fuck this is.
Cinematography. Horrible Camera Angles. Crew members are visible in many scenes.
No one, Absolutely no one looks like they're even trying to act.
I'm all for offensive jokes and dark humor. But humor this is not.
This credit should be under every comedy movie nowadays:

Based on the several WhatsApp Jokes sent by *insert the sleazy uncle's name*

Fuck this shit.

I'm fucking done.

We cannot overlook the fact that Bollywood is nearly 100 years old now, and taken this into consideration, there have been innumerable flop movies that most of us have never even heard of, ever released so it is difficult to judge and sort the worst movies of Bollywood.

However, in the recent years, these are some movies which have seemed utter bullshit and did not make sense to me. I do not know how did it make sense to the actors acting in the film, the director directing the film, the crew and most of all the script writer who wrote the story. I’m absolutely sad about so much money and energy being wasted on such movies, but well, some of these have been a muse to some amazing trolls and spoofs such as Kanan Gill and Biswa Kalyan Rath’s “Pretentious Move Reviews”

Taking this cue forth, here are some of the worst movies, which I hate from it’s name itself:

Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag.
Aap ka Suroor
Love Story 2050 (I cannot believe after Aitraaz, Priyanka Chopra actually signed this movie!)
Drona (Abhishek Bachchan leveled new heights of delivering flops)
Karzzzzz (Himesh Reshamiya should be given an award for his disappointing acting and melodious nasal singing skills)
Rudraksh (This movie was made because Sanjay Dutt did not have any Hirani film signed up for the year)
Last but not the least would be Jaani Dushman (Suniel Shetty has aced being in the maximum flops + Sonu Nigam trying hard to act + Sunny Deol’s face + Akshay Kumar cluelessly making his presence felt in the movie = Armaan Kohli’s unimaginable acting which can put even biggies like Khans’ to shame. I mean, who can pull off becoming a Neo, Terminator and a Snake in one film?)
These are some which I at least know the names to, while there are so many that I’m glad I’ve not even known even exist. Boy, my life is fulfilled by this feat!

Force 2.

Force 2 is a 2016 Indian action spy thriller film written, and directed by Abhinay Deo which features John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.

Yesterday, I watched this movie. Worst movie I must say.

Story(-1/10): A man leaked RAW agent's information to take revenge from HRD minister. he hired a sniper to kill HRD minister in china.

Mumbai police ACP (John)- Intelligent than anyone on earth.

Kamaljeet Kaur(Sonakshi)-R.A.W agent who can't shoot. really? R.A.W agent?

What can't he hire the sniper to kill HRD minister in India?

Worst story ever.

Acting(1.5/10): John expression in the whole movie.

Sonakshi Sinha: Why we count her an actress even. No body language,no dialogue delivery.

Action: (-10/10): Even below movie has good action than force 2.

Protip: Don't waste time on this movie. Even if somebody gives you money to watch Force 2.

I have seen all the replies and could not agree more on all these lists. :-)

Well, I have a new entry to this never ending list. This movie is none other than "Mastizaade", released on Jan, 2016.

Seriously, I don't think I have watched a worst movie than this all in my life. This is simply terrible and disgusting. It requires a special will power for a person to sit and complete the movie. Well, fortunately/unfortunately I had that power.

I think the Bollywood film-makers does not have the concept of making adult-comedy movies. The writer and the director seems to be so overjoyed on getting Sunny Leone signed up, that they forgot to write a story for the film. The flim has got ZERO plot, all the jokes consisting of cheap Whatsapp jokes, outright vulgar and what not. Moreover the film is absolutely boring as well.

I think there should be an additional censor board which should filter out the films which is meant for torturing its poor audience and nothing else. :-D

For the past two years Bollywood has definitely stepped up their game. I was never into the ‘Masala’ movies, I like a movie with a good plot, great acting and I wouldn’t mind if there are a few songs too. In 2016, my favorite movies were Pink, Dangal, Rustom, Neerja, Udta Punjab and Houseful 3. This year, I liked Mom, Indu Sarkar, Shubh Mangal Savdhan, Jolly LLB 2, Phillauri and Badrinath ki Dulhania.

But then I watched Patel ki Punjabi Shaadi (Patel’s Punjabi Wedding). For the past 2 years I always triple check reviews before watching any 3 hour Bollywood film. In all fairness, I had no choice; my parents forced me to watch it with them.

tl;dr: Paresh Rawal—who is Gujarati in real life— plays Hasmukh Patel, a extremely stereotypical Gujarati father: money-minded and conservative. Rishi Kapoor—who is Punjabi in real life— plays Guggi Tandon, an extremely stereotypical Punjabi father: rich and liberal. The former has a preexisting store and the latter opens an auto shop in front of Patel’s store. Conflict arises as the loud and drunk Punjabis face off the quiet sober Gujaratis. During this drama, Vir Das plays Monty Tondon who falls in love with Patel’s daughter Pooja. After the conflict settles, the rivalry ends between Guggi and Hasmukh. Eventually, Pooja and Monty get married and they sing Punjabi folk songs and play Dandiya as the movie ends.

There’s one scene that left me shocked. When the Tandon family opens their auto-shop they require a coconut to complete a Hindu religious ritual. The loud and obnoxious Guggi asks Monty if he has his Coconut Liquor that they could use instead, and Monty pulls out a flask and comments that he ran out. Monty goes over to Hasmukh’s shop and he takes two Coconuts without paying to use for the ritual. Hasmukh asks for the money and Monty makes fun of Hasmukh’s stinginess.

In this scene we the audience were supposed to learn that:

All Punjabis are loud, obnoxious, and drunk.
All Gujaratis are stingy, conservative, and weak.
Every single character fits into the stereotype of Punjabis and Gujaratis that we almost believe in all those stereotypes.
Both sides constantly bring each other’s ethncities into the plot. It becomes irritating to hear “Punjabi” and “Gujarati”.
Aren’t they supposed to live in Mumbai? Why do they act so tribal? Have they never seen someone that doesn’t belong to their ethnic group?
I’m 100% sure that Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor act nothing like this in real life. Why did they sign up to play roles that stereotype their own communities?
Whenever Bollywood wants to depict a Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Pakistani etc., they strictly follow the stereotypes. If you want to bring diversity to the screen, then why don’t you introduce a characters that happens to be Gujarati/Punjabi, instead of a character that is nothing but a Gujarati/Punjabi.

Life of human being i mean any kind of human being are too busy to handle. All of us want to achieve something except the one who have nothing to do. After great work and tiredness all we want is grab a tub of pop corn and watch a movie. But we come across some bad experience that are too tough to describe. So here i am listing out some of the bad movies that bollywood as ever made and they are :

(1) RAM GOPAL VERMA KI AAG

Do i need to tell the reason? Hell no! this is probably oopps sorry the only weakest movie in indian cinema. I don’t know what made Sir Amitabh bachchan and other cast to sign the movie. But than also a great round of applause for the producers who had faith in this crap.

(2) JOKER

Alright when it comes to making a crap movie there comes the name of another stupid director i.e. Sirish kunder. Joker was made on a whooping budget but was not all impressive and promising and thus result was “F.L.O.P.”

(3) TEES MAR KHAN

I know very well what had happen at that time. I was about to see the movie in cinema hall but due to some reason i was not able to make that happen. Than i saw t.v. premier was this movie and trust me i thanked god 1000 of times for not making me to watch this movie in cinema hall. I thanked him 1000 times for saving my 100 bucks

(4) HUMSHAKALS

Sirish kundan than Farah khan made the worst movies of history than how other family member that is Sajid khan could miss this opportunity. He went one step ahead than this two and made a movie which was nightmare for me. Crap story naming it as confusion. The film was not at all near to comedy.

(5) HIMMATWALA

Does this movie need a reason that why do we hate this great movie? It was an insult of old himmatwal. That movie was at its best and this was totally opposite of it this was the best at its worst.

(6) BESHARAM

Ranbir kapoor was enjoying his good pace of his career but suddenly he thought of doing some toofani. So he did this. It was a movie with a poor joke and almost vulgar content in it. It was actually a besharam movie in this industry.

(7) LOVE STORY 2050

Film crashed all around in two weeks. Most call it trade disaster because it could not retrieve its budget. Trust me this was the movie which should have released on 2050.

(8) CHANDANI CHOWK TO CHINA

This movie was panned down by the critics. Even CHINA would have cried why did they used their names to this stupid stuff. Totally a weak movie to watch.

(9) DEPARTMENT

Ram Gopal Verma was one of the best director of bollywood. I have mentioned was here that’s because now it is a crime to watch his pathetic movie. I don’t know why did i see it.

(10) DRONA

Abhishek Bachchan is a warrior (yes, that is true) and has a love interest who somehow looks like a female samurai. No matter how much sepia filter they used, it could not protect the movie from its terrible and inevitable fate.

(11) FOOL N FINAL

First of all there is an underworld don called ‘Moscow Chikna’, who four idiots try to steal a diamond from and succeed. Somehow, there is also a boxer involved who is played by none other than Sunny Deol. The plot was labeled ‘lethargic’ by a critic.

So these are one of the most weakest movie bollywood has made. There are many more but this are the worst of all. So next time if you play truth and dare and the opposition selects dare than please make him/her watch these movies.
